Making a hot standby IIS server.

I`ve recenttly migrated all of my websites manually from windows 2008 to windows 2012.  Was a hell of a job, however, everything is running now.  Now that everything is running on a new peace of harware i would like to have a hot spare standby iis server.  I don`t want to manually create all the websites since i found out that i could use web deploy for it. However i`m running in some strange situations.

I would like to export the whole server ( iis) however. when i right click on my server in iis and click on export server package a new windows appears..  It says :  Package contains : Full IIS 7 webserver.  However to my understanding if i`m running windows 2012 R2 it should be 8, or 8.5 right ?  The package does contain some websites, but not all 105 ( only 2 or 3 websites are mentioned ( in the location summery)).

Also when I click next and finally create the package it will begin creating the package however it stops when it`s to large. ( it`s more than 25 GB in total. I`m however unable to find the option in the gui to disable the content. ( I want to do the content via a daily ftp transfer from all the website files).

Note: I don`t want to sync the servers, just want to make a hot standby server in case this one fails.
