So this seems to be much hairier than I thought it would be.
Started with VS2008 .net3.5, with asp memberships and roles.
Moved to VS2012, no problem, migrated to .net 4.0 no problem.
Installed VS2013 and appears that IIS Express is now the default browser even in VS2012, no Cassini, along with IIS7, ok no problem.
But lost functionality of Roles, "Role Manager not installed"
I have tried a few web suggestions but nothing is working, where is the official MS procedure for this.
This is on my dev PC, site works fine on Server 2012 R2 and IIS8.
what gives?
